User Management Pro - Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
1. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs): User Management Pro
Question 1:

My User Management Pro web application does not work with my current Cumulus Server installation. I get an error message like: The option "00790" is not correctly licensed on the Cumulus Server. What can I do to use it with the new Cumulus Server installation?

Answer 1:

The UMP web application is a modified WPP or ICP web application containing the WPP/ICP technologies. All the Cumulus technology can be found in the 'WebPublisherPro.jar' or 'InternetClientPro.jar' library file inside the 'WEB-INF/lib' directory. These Java Class libraries try to connect to the Cumulus Server version that they have been designed for, so a Cumulus Web Publisher Pro 7.5 web application expects a Cumulus 7.5 Server running containing a Cumulus Web Publisher Pro 7.5 license.

You can find detailed information on how to use your UMP web application with a different Cumulus Server version in chapter 1.4 of the product documentation.

Question 2: When I try to access the User Management Pro web application, I do get a message that my web browser is not supported. What can I do to access UMP?
Answer 2:

UMP is based on Cumulus Web Publisher Pro or Cumulus Internet Client Pro. The problem is caused by a page of WPP/ICP that tries to detect the version of the web browser. Old browsers are linked into the 'Compatible' sub directory because these browsers do not support all the technologies need by WPP/ICP. Due to the technology Canto is using even new browsers on the market sometimes are linked to 'Compatible' and can not access the web application.

You can download a new version of the detection page that allows every web browser to go to the 'Standard' directory of the web application. To install it, just replace the old version with this modified one and restart your Tomcat web application server.

Question 3: When I try to open a catalog in UMP, I get the message 'Error', no additional information is displayed. What is going on?
Answer 3:

When opening a catalog, the records in the catalog are sorted by Cumulus. If no special sort order is specified for the user, the standard sorting is used (Asset Creation Date descending). The error might be displayed, because the field 'Asset Creation Date' is not indexed. If you so, you have to activate the sort index for the field 'Asset Creation Date' in the Cumulus Catalog Setting to allow the sorting.
